Last blog!

Well, finally is the last blog!! I feel happy because I suffered with English subjects in university and now I'm so close for finish with it! I admit that English subject of this semester was better than other English subject for me. When I studied in high school I didn't have problems with english language, but since that I have studied in university, subject english has been difficult to me. However, I think that is because I don't have many time to practice. For me, to do blogs was my favourite part of this subject. Many time I liked theme of blog, for example, I liked "My favourite TV show". 

I think that my major problem with English is listening and have a conversation in english with someone. In these moments I'm very nervous and I forget words (I hope improve this for the exam). Besides I have a lot of problems to understand the words in a conversation. For this reason I prefer to write and to read in english. I believe that these problems I could improve its when I will practice a lot. For this summer I will try to practice more listening and speaking.

For my career is necessary to handle a good english. In my major, we read in english everytime and sometimes we should to write in english (for example, when we write the abstracts of our tasks). In professional life I will need to know more english. I hope to know other countries, to have good conversations with other professional anthropologist and to learn more about physical anthropology around the world. Is true when people sayd that "english is the global language".

In summary, someday I will take any full-time course about English.

Problems of mention that I study.

Hi! In this year I have seen a lot of problems of my career, specifically problems of major. I think that the majority of these problems are because the authority doesn't invest well in resources for students, teachers and civil servant.

This semester I have a subject called "Physical Anthropology IV: Forensic Anthropology". My classmates and me have a lot of problems with this subject, principally because the teacher isn't forensic anthropologist (but in this moment he's most similar) and because he had been more in other country that in class. For this situation, we have a class assistant that has done almost every class and we can't speak directly with teacher because he is never in this faculty.

Other problem that we have in the major is that we have only one laboratory in where we can work with bones. This is really problematic because this laboratory is really small and only 6 or 7 persons can work "comfortably". Besides in this semester the major has a lot of subject in where the student need to examine any skeletor (and not only my major need this space. The archaeologist also analyse bones in a subject called "Bioarchaeology"). This is terrible because this laboratory is full all the time and we can't work comfortably. We can say "but the new building has more laboratories!" and this is true, but these laboratories are not prepared  (and I don't know what they are waiting for to set them up). 

Ever since I started to study Anthropology I have seen a lot of problems with some teachers. In some subjects we have had teachers that don't use suitable teaching methods. For this reason, I had some problems to learn in many opportunities. But we have also had some teachers that are really good teachers and they do all possible but we can learn in a better way.

The holidays I have dreamed

Hi! In this moment I should to be honest: I don't have any plan for this summer. For this reason, today I will tell you about thing I would like to do in summer. I want to work during January, possibly like monitor in university. In February, I hope visit some place with my family and I hope meeting with my friends of school and with my friends of university. 

However, I would like to visit some places alone or with a few friends. I would like to do a tour for south of Chile in a "scarab" car. My idea is visit every place that seems pretty and stop the tour in Torres del Paine. In the return, I want to take other route in where we can know other places until to arrive to Santiago. Also I hope to do the same to north of Chile, but I want to arrive in Machu Pichu, in Peru. I want to know different landscapes, since mountains until the ocean, with hot and cold (although I always prefer cold climates). But for do all this I need money that now I don't have, so the first that I should do is to find a good job (hopefully I'll work in a library).

I only want to travel for these places. In this moment I don't want to work or study outside of Santiago, because I hope to relax and learn from this sites. I think that Chile has a lot of beautiful places that deserve to be known.

About someone I'd like to meet

Hi! Really I like people that have ingenuity to invent new things or to restructure some ideas. I like creative persons, that can show their worlds in things that they do.

One of my favourite writers is Stephen King. He is from United Stated and he has written about terror, fiction science, fantasy and suspense stories. Also he is a producer and a director of some films. I could know his books when I read "Misery" and since this book I love him. I don't know what he is like, but I believe that he could be mysterious and reserved. Some of his works are very famous, even some of them have been adaptated for films or for TV series, like "It", "Under the Dome", "'Salem's Lot" or "The Shining". King has won a lot of prizes of different types. I admire him because his style to write stories that are unique. His way to write is fantastic, with a lot of feeling and suspense (many time, after reading his books I have problems to sleep calmly). Some of my favourite books are "The Green Mile", "Apocalypsis", "Cell" and "Pet Sematary".

Another person that I admire a lot is Adrien Brody. He is an actor and a producer and he is from United Stated. The first film that I could to see in which he acted was "The Pianist" and I cried a lot with the story. Since that moment I loved him as an actor, because he is able to show the feelings of his character. For this reason, I think that he could be a dynamic and funny person, but also he could have a lot of understanding to be able to perform some characters so difficult (like Wladyslaw Szpilman, Henry Barthes or Peter Bower). He has won a lot of prizes, like Cesar Prize, Gold Globe and Oscar Prize. My favourite films of this actor are "The Pianist", " Detachment" and "Backtrack". And I admit, I find him good-looking... hehe.

Well, really I want to know a lot of other persons, but now I only remember Stephen King and Adrien Brody.

My future job like physical anthropologist

Hi! Well, really I don't know what I will do with my future after that I will have my degree. I study Anthropology with major in Physical Anthropology. This is very difficult to me because I like a lot Physical Anthropology and its domains. Principally, I want to work in Bioarchaeology (with old bones, in which I will can to do reserch in old populations), Human Paleontology or in Forensic Anthropology (with modern bones, like support to medical legal cases). But I believe that is complicated because these are fields very different. I think that with this career we can have a lot of chances to travel other countries and I hope to travel a lot. I want to know other cultures around the world, human rest from other extinct cultures and I want to know Farm's Corpses that is in United Stated (these is for reseach in forensic sphere).

I feel happy for study Physical Anthropology, because I believe that I will not be in a office everytime. I like to do analysis in laboratory and to work in site. I believe that I chose this career because I can't work with living persons, because I don't have many patience. However, I like a lot human sciences (for example anatomy or histology). For this I selected to have a job with dead persons. Besides, I like that Physical Anthropology work with facet social and biological together.

Finally, I should to say that Forensic Anthropology isn't like Bones or CSI. Yes, this is sad, but these series show all that easy and they have a lot of technology that we don't have (I'm not sure that these technology really exist). Oh! and bioarchaeology isn't like Indiana Jones (on the contrary, we try to don't break things).

About the next election...

This topic is really tedious to me.  However, I believe that for this elections I will going to vote. In spite of criticisms that I did previosly, I think that to vote is an important civil duty and is possible that one of candidate really will can to do the difference.

I don't like election campaigns, because I think that every year the candidates are the same. They promise a lot of things but is strange when they can do anything and getting it right. Is complicated to find a good candidate that really is obliged with the community. With the mayor that we have now in our district I can see a lot of changes, but this changes were more superficial. I thing that a qualities that should to be a person that have to run for public office is to be responsible, to take him/her work serioly and principally to be obliged with the community. Is important that mayors and city councillors knows the problems of them community and works in the search of solutions.

I don't like politics either work directly with for other persons (because I feel that I don't have the abilities for to be close with strange people). For these I would not hold public office. 

My favourite series: Game of Thrones

Well, this is a bit difficult to me, because I don't really watch TV that much. Besides I have the problem that I can't hook easily to a series. It quickly bores me. For that reason, now I will tell you about a series called "Game of Thrones", that is the only series that now I can follow with enthusiasm and I try to follow all the sunday (but now I suffer because it is in pause). This series is based on the books of George R. R. Martin whose saga is called "Song of Ice and Fire".

Series "Game of Thrones" is about the dispute between a lot of characters to conquer the throne of King's Landing, but also to survive with the arrival of winter and its terrors. This is set in medieval period, but it isn't real, because all was created for a fantastic world. In this series is complicated to say who is the principal character, because there are several stories that happened at the same time. Some of the characters of the series (and that now they continue alive) are Jon Snow (he is bastard son of Ned Stark and that search how confront to "white walkers"), Daenerys Targaryen (she is daughter of the murdered king Aerys Targaryen. She tries to recover the throne that was snatch to her father) and Tyrion Lannister (he is brother of queen of King's Landing and now he helps Daenerys to win the throne). These is a lot of more characters, like Arya Stark, Cersei Lannister, Petyr Baelish or Melissandre, but I don't have time to speak of each one of them.

(Spoiler!) One of my favourite episode was "The Battle of Bastards", that was decisive for the control of "the North". It was really amazing, because Jon Show fight to take away the control of "The North" to Ramsay Bolton. Finally, he achieved to return the North to House Stark and Sansa Stark kills Ramsay for all the bad things that he has done.
